Folks;
just stumbled across StormOS a few days ago and am looking into it by now, searching for an OpenSolaris distribution to come with XFCE out of the box. There is one question that comes to my mind so far however: How "active" is StormOS as an operating system distribution, in terms of developers involved, users known, ... ? Looking at things, both the forums and the mailing list seem pretty quiet. Adding to that, I wonder how StormOS will look like, in the future, depending upon OpenSolaris' overall future perspectives with Sun ending up at Oracle? What are your thoughts?

StormOS is a one man project currently. A couple of people have expressed and interest in helping but that's about it. Hopefully that will change when the project moves to a real server where we have nice things like rsync, mercurial, etc, which should make it pretty easy to get involved.
I don't think Oracle are going to have any impact on StormOS, the project is just going to continue doing its own thing.
As soon as I install StormOS and have working internet connection I'll be able to contrbitu with support and documentation. I'm really interested with desktop OS based on Solaris, but vanilla OpenSolaris seems to be inactive lately. More than that, it's not really good for desktop for many reasons (such as security updates that are available only to Sun's payed subscribers), but rather intended for developers.
